About Department

Department of Science was established in the year 2003, offering three UG courses, B.Sc. (Chemistry), B.Sc (Microbiology) and B.Sc. (Biotechnology) affiliated to Savitribai Phule Pune University. The Department has Experienced & Qualified Teaching Staff. It has 6 well equipped laboratories with excellent facilities and well equipped instruments. The department is equally active in co-curricular activities that include festival “Bio-spectra’’ under Science Forum. The department organises study tours, workshops, seminars and guest lectures on various informative topics. The students of the department have presented posters and models in “Avishkar’’ research based competition held by SPPU. The department conducts “CHEMIAD” competition every year for the first year students under SPPU up till now students have achieved tremendous success by securing top 10 positions in Nashik district & at the university level in this examination. The department also promotes students to learn foreign languages such as Japanese, French, German, and Spanish in collaboration with the professional academies

Students have also cleared various entrance exams like JNU, TIFR, CET, and CAT for MBA, TOFEL, and IELTS for abroad studies. Many of our alumni’s are working or studying at abroad in various universities like Cambridge, New Castle, etc. students of our department got placed at top MNC’s like TCS, Concentrix etc through campus drive.

The department aims to establish a centre of excellence in various areas of science & research and offer value added services to industries as well as the society.

Every year for students Department of Science organizes festival under Science Forum called “Bio-spectra’’ This platform helps them to explore their ideas & skills in various competitions like poster- model, power point presentations, science photo gallery, rangoli competition, science games etc. It also helps them to present their hidden talent & research ideas for their further career.
