The Department of Commerce was established in the year 2003, affiliated to University of Pune. It offers under graduate programme in Commerce (B.Com.), Business Administration (B.B.A.) with intake of 240 & 80 respectively and also the post-graduate course in Commerce (M.Com.) with intake of 60 with the specialization of Advanced Accounting & Taxation. The course has been framed with the emphasis on the development of Management skills, teamwork, practical knowledge of Accounting and Taxation, Banking & Finance which is very useful for the students in business world. For the industrial exposure of the students, visits are arranged to various industries such as VIP, BOSCH, DIRK, Coca-Cola etc. every year.

The department has well qualified staff in Commerce and Management and provides good environment for the students. It is imparting quality and value-based education to the students. The department maintains good academic track record with 75% and above results and is equally active in co-curricular activities of the students. The department has good placement record, which has provided better placements in reputed organizations. The department is having well-equipped classrooms and Computer Lab with internet & WI-FI facilities. The staff members and students are motivated to participate in different seminars, conferences and workshops. The students are also motivated to do social work through various visits and programs like Swachha Bharat Abhiyan, Helping Orphanage kids, Aadharashram, Blood Donation camps, etc.

Our students have participated in various National conferences and sports events at University and State level and have won several medals. Ms. Kavita Patil of M.com-I & Ms.Priyanka Gite from M.Com-II won the medals in Hand Ball at National level and our former student Mast. Jayesh Fartale participated in Water Polo Sports at Open National level from Maharashtra Team and secured III position.

Every year the department organizes “COMMERCE FORUM” under which various guest lecturers of eminent personalities from various fields like Commerce, Economics, and Management are conducted for enriching the knowledge of the students. The students are also provided special guidance on various subjects through the series of Expert Talk. Commerce Festival “IMPETUS” is organized in the month of January under which various competitions like Poster presentation, Paper presentation, Extempore, Ad-Mad show, Group Discussion, Quiz, Commerce exhibition, “Master & Miss Manager” are held.

Thus, the department makes every effort for the overall development of the students. The students are also motivated to participate in various competitions and their teaching-learning process is made happy and joyful.

About BBA

The department of BBA was established in the year 2007.It course structure includes various subjects related to areas of Business such as Business Communication, Business Accounting, Business Mathematics, Business Economics etc., at First Year Level for making the students aware about the business environment. At Second Year the syllabus includes subjects like, Business Ethics, Personality Development, Human Resource Management, Management Accounting, Business Economics at Macro level etc., to impart the knowledge about moral values, Professional and Business ethics, Accounting from the point of view of Managers, Human Resources and their importance in business and technical knowledge to improve their overall Personality. At Third Year the subjects includes Business Planning & Project Management, Logistics Management, Research Methodology, and Entrepreneurship Development, Business Law etc., to impart the knowledge of Research, Logistics, and Business Laws amongst the students.

The department is well equipped with well-furnished classrooms & Seminar Hall for conduction of Expert and Guest Lectures for the students.

IMPETUS:  Every year students celebrate Commerce Festival-“IMPETUS” for providing platform to the students for enhancing their communication skills, administrative skills, decision-making abilities, analytical skills, team spirit, managerial skills etc. During this festival various competitions such as Group Discussions, Poster & Model Competition, Debate, Management Games, PPT, etc., are conducted to encourage them and explore their hidden talents.

BBA(Computer Application)

The department of BBA (Computer Application) was established in the year 2007, Affiliated to University of Pune.Bachelor  of Business Administration (Computer Application)-BBA(CA) previously known as B.C.A Bachelor of Computer Application is an under-graduate course of 3 years duration having 6 semesters with intake of 80 student. This degree course is best option which encompasses the entry point for all streams students to make a career in computers.

The course teaches the students about the basic concepts of computer programming languages and its applications with complementary knowledge related to management and accounting. 

The department has well equipped and well furnished laboratories, classrooms and state of art-library named as ‘Late Prof. Vasantraokanetkar central library’. Co-curriculum activities like workshops, expert lectures, seminars, group discussions etc., sharpen their minds and other skills. The mock tests are frequently organized by the department for the final year students on aptitude and technical skills to prepare them for their better future. 

We know that India is an IT power thus it is obvious that the course of BCA will provide jobs in in the IT sector. The companies such as Wipro, InfoTech, Satyam, [TCS] Tata Consultancy Service, Siemens Communications,such as are hiring Students every year

E-Merge:
Every year department of computer science organize computer forum in which e-merge where “e” represents explore, experience and execute... It is three days annual festival for all computer science students. The platform is provided to explore the hidden talents of the students and to make them aware about the recent trends and technologies. Various contests are held under e-merge so that they can survive in the world of it. To name the few are quiz, programming competition, poster, gaming, blind coding and debate.
Talent Hunt:-
Computer forum provides a platform to showcase student talent. Different application development activities are promoted. Whole year this event is carried out under computer forum.
