NSS volunteers undertake various activities in adopted village for community service.
Two main Activities were held in the academic year 2015-16 as follows.
1) The NSS Units organise the regular activities as detailed below:
i) Tree Plantation:
Tree plantation at the K.K.Wagh Agriculture site Makhmalabad, Nashik premises also was held on 12th September, 2015, where the chief guest planted trees seedlings to mark the day a significant one. To protect environment by planting trees and made people aware about the services of trees in our life and their role in making the environment balance. In this tree plantation programmed 45 NSS Volunteers participated.
ii) Eco Ganesha Idol making workshop:
Around150 students from different faculties participated in this workshop. Expertise from the Fine Art College taught the students how to make Eco-Ganesha Idol. All the participants made Eco-Ganesh idols using clay and decorative materials like water colour, leaves, etc. in creative & innovative way.
(iii) Collection of Ganesh idol & Nirmalya:
To save Earth and its environment, our College were organized an activity like Collection of Ganesh idol on the occasion of Ganesh Visarjan Day. 'Idols made out of Plaster of Paris (PoP) do not dissolve easily in water. This has an adverse effect on not only the environment but also the aquatic life. N.S.S Volunteers were collected 750 Ganesh idols on that day and gave fruitful Contribution in the activity.
(iv) Road Safety Rally:
NSS volunteers participated in road safety awareness rally held here on Tuesday on 31, December, 2015. The rally started from the Rasbihari School Corner on Aadgaon road and passed through the Dhatrak Phata, Balimandir, and Jatra Hotel Corner before returning to the K.K. Wagh Senior College, Nashik. The rally highlighting the need for responsible behaviour on roads and compassion to fellow road users. Volunteers carried placards on road rules, and dos and don’ts in a bid to sensitise the motorists on the need to avoid practices that lead to accidents. The main theme of programmed was organised to explain the road safety measures such as the need for wearing helmets, avoiding drunk driving, use of cell phone while on wheels, wearing of seat belts, use of dazzling head lights, and compliance to road rules.
2) The NSS Units organise the Special Camp SPECIAL CAMP NSS Annual Special Camp
It was held from 4th to 10 January 2015 at Babhleswar Village Tal. & Dist. Nashik. Details Day Events as below. NSS special Camp was organized at Babhleswar Village of Tal. & Dist. Nashik from 4th to 10 January 2015. The annual camp was inaugurated by Principal. Bal Nagarkar, Fine Art College, Nashik in the presence of Prof. Anuradha Nandurkar HOD Commerce faculty K.K Wagh Senior College Nashik, Villager Sarpanch Sri. Ganpatrao Tile, and other distinguished guests at Babhaleswar. From 4th to 10th January 2015, Social programmes were conducted for the benefit Villagers of Babhleswar. On Sunday 05/01/2015, the programme was at K.K. Wagh site Babhaleswar village. In the morning session, around 75 volunteers gave their contribution in social work like cleanliness of road, to make round around trees. etc. On Monday 06/01/2015, the programme was at Mohagaon village.
Volunteers Contributed in social work like cleanliness of Temple of Shiva, premises of temple. Volunteers planed trees at Grampanchayat Ground, Cleanliness of School premises over there. At Afternoon session Prof. Sachin Ahire was invited as guest lecturer. He delivered lecture on ‘Road Safety”. On Tuesday, 07/01/2015, Area Co-ordinator Of NSS, Prof. Vikram Kakulate has interacted with Volunteers and also handled a session in the camp. He spoke on ‘Personality Development’. After the session he visited the site. His visit has given us very much encouragement. On Wednesday, 08/01/2015, in the morning Volunteers organized Street play on various subjects like, Superstitious, Save the Girl child, Save Water Save Energy, Say no to Dowry. On Friday, 9/01/2015, in the evening programme, Principal Prakash Kadave, K.K. Wagh Polytechnic College Nashik, was invited to talk about ‘Environment Awareness’. Inspired by his talk, Volunteers asked many questions regarding Environment & its safety and there was great interaction.
On the last day, valedictory function was organised at Babhaleshwar village. The programme started with welcomed the guests. Mr. D.S Shinde (Trustee- K.K. Wagh Education Society, Nashik), Prof. Vilas Patil were invited as Chief guests. Dr. V.M. Sewlikar Principal of our College, Mr. Ganpat Tile (Sarpanch Bhabaleshwar Village), Kailas Tile (Member Gram Panchayat Bhabaleshwar village), were present on the dias. NSS Volunteer Amol Tidake proposed the vote of thanks. Prof. Pankaj Desai Programme Officer, Dr. Balu Pawar Asst Programme Officer NSS, was also present on the dias.
